Context:
Sue Kullen was appointed to fill out a House of Delegates term for a district in southern Maryland. A Republican district, political watchers gave her chances a “leans Republican” running against a popular county commissioner. Our Work:
In her one year incumbency at the State House, Sue Kullen authored 18 bills. 16 of them passed. We created a theme around her rookie performance launching a large and early campaign around the idea of Rookie of the Year.
Results:
The campaign was a hit. Rookie of the Year became a moniker for Sue as she went from town to town. The theme was an easy to remember slogan that depicted strength, determination and responsibility to her voters. Sue won the election with 57% of the vote while the statewide Democrats did not fair as well in her district. |
